Ballooning is safe when proper safety protocols are followed. Here are some of the aviation protocols Goldrush Ballooning follows:
Experienced pilots: Hot air balloon pilots are licensed and trained professionals who are experienced in flying hot air balloons. They are required to undergo rigorous training and certification before being allowed to fly a balloon. Goldrush’s pilots are licensed by CASA each holding a Commercial Pilot’s Licence, and on average have more than 18 years balloon piloting experience.
Regular maintenance: Hot air balloons are regularly maintained and inspected by trained professionals to ensure they are in good condition and safe to fly.
Favourable weather conditions: Hot air balloons are only flown in favourable weather conditions, such as clear skies, calm surface winds, and moderate temperatures. The pilot will always check the weather forecast and conditions before flying and will not fly if conditions are not suitable.
Safety equipment: Hot air balloons are equipped with safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and radios for communication.
Safety briefing: Before each flight, your pilot will give a safety briefing to all passengers, which includes instructions on the landing position and safe operations.
Like any activity involving transportation, there is some small inherent risk involved in hot air ballooning. It is important to choose a reputable company. Goldrush Ballooning is a CASA approved operator, under Air Operators Certificate C569224. We also invite you to check our Google and Facebook guest reviews.
Please follow Goldrush’s Comfort, Health and Balloon Safety guidelines, and listen carefully to the instructions of your pilot to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
